Thank You For Not Smoking

Spring 2003

2 minutes Black/White 16mm

Festivals: California Independent Film Festival, Sedona International Film Festival, International Festival of Cinema and Technology, Algonquin Film Festival, Dead Center Film Festival, East Lansing Film Festival

I decided to make something short and cheap and focus on good old-fashioned filmmaking techniques.

The effects were done on-location and without a crew. No special effects software.

This little thing was selected as one of the best entries to the 2004 Project Greenlight competition, and has also appeared on television in several regions of the country.

Yes, I’m proud. To be a non-smoker.

Violin Music Video

Winter 2003

2 minutes Black/White 16mm

This is a music video the likes of which you’ve probably never seen! It features the violin virtuoso Sharon Roffman.

She plays a Scherzo by Fritz Kreisler.

I feel compelled to mention that this flick was put together in just a few hours.

Andrew is one of those people who I could never thank enough for the things he has done for my art. Taking me under his wing to do his independent film was an unbelievable experience which enabled me to grow as an actor. He is talented, extremely creative (obviously), and I am privileged to know him and to have had the opportunity to work with him. P.S. We did it. Who knew such a little film could go such a long way! Here’s to the future!

Thanks for archiving this video. I was a student of Professor Roffman, and she appreciates the up-keep of this long charished video, as I am.
