Autumn 2009 in Marshall, Michigan

There are few places as colorful as the northern states this time of
year. Over several days of long walks, I tried to both save and savor
the moment. Marshall is proud of its history and I came upon many
plaques detailing the significance of certain homes in the area, some of
which are nearly 200 years old. I've said it before, but I've never seen
a Midwestern town with such a direct connection to its long and curious
past.
